About
I'm currently a reference manager in the social sciences and humanities at the Nazarbayev University library in Kazakhstan. During my recent M.A. work in cultural & economic anthropology, I worked on the following projects:
1) ethnographic field research on economic citizenship as a key factor in the migration decisions of Mongolian Kazakhs (part of Cynthia Werner's larger project on migration; under revisions for publication),
2) ethnographic field research on the ethics of self-representation for missionaries working in Central Asia (submitted for publication), and
3) a major literature review of all ethnographies conducted in post-Soviet Central Asia in the twenty years from 1991 to 2011 (revising for submission).
More recently, I've begun to explore the role of single women in American churches, as well as the social roles of single women in Kazakhstan. I'd welcome collaboration or discussion on any of these issues -- send me a message!
